If you are looking for an assistive mobility device, you may be eligible for Medicare reimbursement. Medicare is the federal health insurance program for people who are 65 or older and certain younger people with disabilities. Those who plan to use Medicare reimbursement must meet Medicare eligibility requirements - for more information on Medicare and mobility devices, click here.

POVs/Scooters

Power-operated vehicles (POVs)/scooters are designed for people who have walking challenges, but have enough upper body strength and hand control to drive and steer a POV.

If you are interested in using Medicare reimbursement toward a (POV)/mobility scooter, please follow the checklist below to determine if you are eligible:

  1. Click here to download a Medicare requirements information form for POV/scooters.
  2. Make an appointment with your doctor and take the form with you. Your doctor will help you evaluate your need for a mobility device and determine what is the best option for you.
  3. Once your doctor provides a prescription and required chart notes, contact us and we can help you decide what type of POV/scooter is the best fit for your needs. You may visit our store to test drive, or we can arrange for an in-home consultation.

Power Wheelchairs
